About

Offline Vault started as a shared spreadsheet between a few friends who kept running out of things to play on flights and in tunnels. We got tired of installing a game only to hit a login wall the moment the connection dropped, so we made a rule: everything we cover has to be genuinely playable with airplane mode on.

The way we work is simple. Someone finds a candidate, we install it on a couple of different phones, and we play it for at least a few hours before anyone writes a word. If it needs a constant connection to do anything meaningful, it doesn't make the catalogue, no matter how nice the trailer looked.

We try to cover a real spread of genres, because not everyone wants the same thing on a Tuesday commute. Some days you want a slow city builder, other days a tight puzzle or a scrappy little RPG. We keep the reviews honest about the rough edges too, because pretending a game is flawless helps nobody.

There's no big company behind this. It's a small editorial group, our own devices, and a lot of opinions argued out over coffee before anything gets published.

Lukas Brenner — Lukas is our lead editor and the person most likely to keep a game running for three hours past his stop just to finish a level. He's been writing about mobile games for the better part of a decade.
